It’s finally here. The first drop of Supreme‘s Spring/Summer 2018 collection is releasing this week, officially getting the streetwear ball rolling for the new year with more collectible grails and staple gear. Aside from the Carlyle Group-backed fashion label’s return, the rest of this week’s drops impressed with a hard-hitting lineup of collaborations, special edition pieces and celebratory Chinese New Year releases.

The predominant theme of this week was ’90s sportswear. NOAH Spring/Summer 2018, Liam Hodges x FILA, Wood Wood x Champion, Babylon LA x Converse and Nice Kicks x adidas Consortium brought out retro-inspired athletic silhouettes chock full of color blocking, striping and collegiate-inspired accents. Raf fans will want to check out The Webster x Calvin Klein 205W39NYC crewneck sweater and Raf Simons x Fred Perry capsule collection for some special edition classics, while military wear enthusiasts will enjoy the Slam Jam x 424 x Alpha Industries collection for some reimagined army silhouettes.

From the other side of the world, Japanese imprints WACKO MARIA and Needles brought forth reimagined classic garments, while Alpha Industries and Dover Street Market celebrated Chinese New Year with special edition “Year of the Dog” releases in their own manner — the former with a super limited release; the latter with an expansive multi-brand collab list.

424 x Alpha Industries x Slam Jam Collection

Slam Jam, 424 and Alpha Industries have linked up for a three-way collaboration of reworked archive pieces. The Guillermo Andrade-designed capsule focuses on distressed military-inspired outerwear, combines elements of punk culture with post-war attitudes via scribbled anarchy symbols and classic 424 red armbands. The army green capsule includes a military kimono, field jacket, deck jacket, parka and bombers, while ripped trousers and a cross-body bag helmet bag round out the set. Head over here for a closer look of the garments.
