Following on from its checkerboard home kit and La Masia-honoring away kit, FC Barcelona has now returned with its third kit for the upcoming season. The Nike-designed jersey comes in a teal color palette, a reference to the 1996/97 season when Ronaldo’s 47 goals drove the team to two titles.
The teal jersey also features a retro-inspired V-neck collar, which comes in the traditional “Blaugrana” colors of red and blue. The jersey is also covered with an all-over, diamond jacquard pattern as a nod the the city of Barcelona’s coat of arms. Other features include an elevated trim around the club crest and Nike’s 1990s Futura logo, which has also recently appeared on third kits for Chelsea, Tottenham Hostpur and Inter Milan. The jersey will be complemented by teal shorts and socks.
Speaking about the kit, Barcelona’s Gerard Piqúe explained that “when you see this color, you think of Ronaldo, Guardiola, Stoichkov, Luis Enrique…so many great players. It will be a pleasure to wear this kit and bring our fans joy with victories both at home and abroad.”
Take a look at the Barcelona third kit in the gallery above, and expect it to release via the Nike web store on September 13.
