adidas' "Moon Festival" UltraBOOST 4.0 Is Perfect for Mid-Autumn Celebrations
Paying homage to the night sky and mooncakes.
Mid-Autumn Festival is just around the corner, and to tap into the celebrations adidas is gearing up to release a special edition UltraBOOST 4.0 dressed in mooncake-appropriate colors.
Dubbed “Moon Festival,” the silhouette pays homage to China’s upcoming Mid-Autumn celebrations which occurs this weekend. The Low cut runner’s Primeknit upper and leather lace cage is dressed in black to represent the night sky, while the heel counter and signature BOOST midsole gets an orange makeover to represent the colors of mooncake (which are typically eaten during the festive season). Additionally, Chinese graphics have been stamped onto the lateral portion of the heel counters, as well as on the tongue tabs. Finally adidas UltraBOOST branding and a black rubber outsole round out the look of this celebratory model.
The adidas UltraBOOST 4.0 “Moon Festival” will release exclusively in China and online starting this Friday, September 13 for a retail price of ¥1199 RMB (approximately $170 USD).
