Ever since Jordan Brand opted to revive its beloved Air Jordan 1 Hi ‘85 in 2020 during NBA All-Star weekend, it has chosen to be more selective about the amount colorways that it delivers every year. In recent memory, we saw the Jumpman kicks get brought back in its classic “Black/White” palette, and now we’re learning that it has its eyes set on returning in its classic “Metallic Red” color scheme for 2024.

There are no early leaked images of the pair yet, but reports have stated that the kicks will follow the same design cadence as its original release (shown above) which made its debut in 1986. If this rings true, that means that a majority of the base layer’s panels will be executed with premium, smooth white leather while the Swooshes, collars and ball-and-wings logos will be finished with its titular shade. More red accents will also be positioned on the shoe laces and Nike Air tongue branding for an extra ounce of retro-inspired pop.

At the time of writing, a hard launch date hasn’t been announced just yet, but as we draw closer to next year you can likely expect more images and info to show up.

In other news, early images of the next Union LA x Air Jordan 1 High OG have emerged.
