Daniel Caesar Drops His Emotional Music Video for "Valentina"
Directed by Machine Operated, the visual expresses the feelings of two people who are longing to be together but can’t.
In support of dropping his latest LP album Never Enough, Daniel Caesar is currently bopping around the world for a mini tour to perform his newest assemblage of tracks in intimate venues. And ahead of his show in New York at Irving Plaza, he’s further added to the project’s rollout by releasing the official visual for “Valentina.”
Directed by Machine Operated and produced by Theo Hue Williams, the music video tells the story of Caesar who is longing to be with a love interest but can’t due to the fact that she’s already in a committed relationship. The R&B sensation croons, “Valentina, baby, I only need one moment of time, to make you feel a way / From the first time I looked in your eyes, I knew that I would find a way to make you mine / I know it’s late, and I know you got a man, please understand, baby, he won’t love you like I do / Give me a break, I know that you want me too, your loyal is cool, I understand and I respect it.”
The visuals are simple-yet-powerful, The clip mostly consists of various shots of Caesar and the aforementioned love interest separately pondering on their feelings for each other before it eventually closes out with them cuddled up together.
