The Air Jordan 1 High OG “Royal” Makes Its Long-Awaited Return

Jordan Brand is bringing back the Air Jordan 1 High “Royal.”

First released in 1985, “Royal” is one of the Air Jordan 1’s original colorways. Unlike “Bred” and “Chicago,” it was frequently seen not only on the court but off it as well. At a time when wearing basketball shoes as everyday footwear was far from common, it became a defining colorway of the Air Jordan 1’s presence on the streets.

The upper is crafted entirely from leather, with a black base accented by “Varsity Royal” at the ankle, heel counter, and toe box. The familiar Wings logo—a basketball with wings—appears at the collar. Nike’s proprietary Air technology is built into the midsole for cushioning and responsiveness.

The Air Jordan 1 High “Royal” goes on sale October 10 at 9 a.m. via SNKRS and other retailers. It is priced at ¥26,730, including tax.
