Nike is celebrating an iconic fixture of New York City grit with the Air Force 1 Low ’01 “Subway Rat”. The upcoming release transforms the classic silhouette with thematic details nodding to the metropolis, complete with pizza graphics and transit-inspired hardware.

Dressed in a “College Grey” and “Pink Glaze” colorway, the upper is constructed from tactile shaggy suede across the toe boxes, quarter panels, Swooshes, and tongue. Soft pink accents frame the Swoosh branding, midsole, and translucent rubber outsole, while a thin pink strip extends from the back of the heel to mimic a rat tail.

Nodding directly to NYC subculture, the back of the tongue features embroidered “NYC” lettering intersected by a small Swoosh, while placing the insoles side by side forms a full slice of pizza. Rounding out the pair is a yellow MetroCard-inspired hangtag with a bold blue Swoosh alongside an extra set of pink replacement laces.

The Nike Air Force 1 Low ’01 “Subway Rat” drops on October 7, 2026.
