Cooking up delicious meals at home is one thing, but what about trimming your hair during quarantine? Filthy Rich Barbershop‘s proprietor, Richard “Rich the Barber” Mendoza, has partnered with HYPEBEAST to create an easy-to-follow video guide for trimming short hair while at home, even demonstrating a DIY fade.

To begin, Mendoza lays out his tools, which include clippers, guards, a comb, mirror and some styling gel. Mendoza opts for a timeless cut, pinning back the hair on top of his head so he can slim down the sides and shorten the back. Patiently, Mendoza swaps out guards on his razor as he gently shortens the hair length at different intervals, using smaller-sized guards to create a gentle fade. With a mirror, he cleans up the back, keeping the hair on top long as the rest of his ‘do is properly shortened.

Check out the video above and don’t be afraid to take chances on hair while at home — it’ll always grow back.
