'John Wick' Will Be Free To Watch Tomorrow
Lionsgate continues its string of livestream events in order to raise money for COVID-19-impacted workers.
With theaters closed around the world due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Lionsgate has been running livestream events in order to fundraise money for workers. Its latest livestream will be its 2014 action flick John Wick starring Keanu Reeves.
The YouTube livestream will take place on the studio’s Lionsgate Live website, and all money raised during the event will be donated to the Will Rogers Motion Pictures Pioneers Foundation. According to the site, the funds will “provide financial assistance and supportive counseling to those who work in theatrical exhibition who are experiencing hardship due to illness, accident or underemployment.”
John Wick is the latest film to be screened for the Lionsgate Live event following La La Land, Dirty Dancing, and The Hunger Games. The event is also hosted by Halloween actress Jamie Lee Curtis. There is a UK equivalent of the event that will be screening Dexter Fletcher’s Eddie the Eagle the same day.
The third installment of the franchise, John Wick: Chapter 3 released last year with a worldwide box office total of $326.7 million USD. A fourth installment is scheduled to arrive May 27, 2022, and a spin-off film starring Chloe Grace Moretz called Ballerina is currently rumored to take place sometime in the future.
John Wick will be free to watch on the studio’s Lionsgate Live website tomorrow, May 8, at 9 p.m. EST.
