KITH, Converse and Disney Encompass Mickey Mouse's 90-Year History With Chuck 70 Collection
Three styles salute Mickey in three different ways.
To accompany its full Mickey Mouse apparel collection with Disney, KITH has also teamed with Converse for three Mickey-themed takes on the Chuck 70. KITH is no stranger to using the Chuck as a canvas for collaborative projects — think Coca-Cola — but here it’s especially poignant, as the silhouette is the rare product with a history that’s as long and storied as Disney’s signature character.
Each pair in the collection acknowledges Mickey’s impact in a different fashion. First up is a supple black leather iteration, one that features a selection of debossed prints running directly above the midsole. These graphics nod to Mickey’s lineage, starting with a black-and-white Steamboat Willie drawing from the ’20s by the heel before crescendoing with a modern-day Mickey right by the toebox. Next, a classic parchment-colored canvas style equips generational portraits of Mickey by the lateral and medial sides of its throat, even using his ears as detailing on the metal eyelets.
Finally, a soft sherpa fleece style calls upon a quite literal interpretation, with a black and red fleece upper inspired by Mickey’s fur and the color of his coat/signature suspenders. The styles are completed by signature KITH branding on the midsole, and offer co-branded insoles.
All three pairs will be available via the KITH webstore on November 18. The retail price for each is set at $140 USD.
