Bodega and Clarks Patch Together Winter-Ready Wallabee Collaboration
Limited edition silhouettes that combine leather, nubuck, suede and hairy wool.
Boston-based Bodega continues flexing its collaborative muscle with another strong footwear collaboration, following its recent New Balance 997S “NO BAD DAYS.” First spotted in the Fall/Winter 2019 lookbook, the boutique’s inaugural Clarks collaboration is a striking blend of graphic appeal and quality craftsmanship, with two patchwork silhouettes boldly elevating the timeless Wallabee silhouette.
Two distinctive makeups are on hand, with each of Bodega’s bespoke Wallabee chukkas boasting a collage of leather, nubuck and suede on the uppers, mixing an assortment of premium patchwork leather squares. Offered in blue and dark brown tones, the lavish silhouette sports tonal leather piping across the toe and rear, underlining the quality construction. Finally, to highlight the winterized nature of the design, Bodega opted for an ankle collar of neppy wool, adding both the promise of extra warmth and an additional hit of texture to the already-textile-rich shoes.
Expect Bodega to launch the highly limited quickstrike patchwork Wallabees on November 15 for $200 USD via the Bodega web store and its physical locations in Boston and Los Angeles.
Most recently, Supreme and KITH both remixed the classic Wallabee, and even Clarks itself got in on the action, upgrading the iconic shoe with bold animal prints.
