“Utilitarian hallmarks of New England.”

Following its capsule collaboration with Chocolate Skateboards, which featured a selection of skate decks and accompanying apparel, Bodega has released a lookbook for its own Fall/Winter 2019 range. The collection highlights cut and sew garments, knitwear and classic American staples reminiscent of workwear and athletic heritage.

Bodega’s inspiration behind the latest collection comes from the “utilitarian hallmarks” of New England,” like casual workwear styles and warm mid-day layers that have become part of the cultural fabric of New England. As the brand explains, it’s the type of garments “that outfits so many crisp, early morning activities against a backdrop of scenic foliage and fresh coffee, shifting its focus to a more style-conscious, modern outlook.” Furthermore, the FW19 collection aims to refocus the “center-of-attention sense of occasion and spectacle” of the nighttime into the daylight hours, when work, appointments, errands and other responsibilities occur.

The first drop includes seasonal staples like waffle-knit thermals, corduroy vests, sherpa fleece pullovers and graphic hoodies. Taking on a fall-themed color palette of orange, yellow, green and maroon, the collection features Bodega branding, collegiate-inspired graphics and the retailer’s signature rose print. Playful color-blocked designs inform a collared shirt with matching pants, while an oversized jersey boasts large branding and numbers to highlight the contrast between the sophisticated styling and sporty inspiration. A clear indication of that fusion is a set of collegiate script-branded Dr. Martens derbies, done up in tonal black.

Expect the first drop of the FW19 collection to go live November 2 at 10 am EST on Bodega’s website, in-store at the brand’s Boston location and, starting at 11 am, at the Los Angeles store location.

For more seasonal releases, NOAH NYC recently dropped cozy paisley-covered loungewear.
