KITH is a retail store based in NYC, founded by sneaker designer, Ronnie Fieg in 2010. It currently has two New York locations in Manhattan and Brooklyn, as well as an online store. KITH sells a range of its own apparel (launched in 2012) alongside footwear collaborations, as well as a number of renowned streetwear brands. Many of Fieg’s sneaker collaborations bearing the KITH name have proved popular, leading to recurring sneaker collaborations with the likes of PUMA, ASICS, New Balance and more. The renowned retailer is often home to many limited edition sneakers and releases, making it a destination for the streetwear inclined. Fieg partnered with boutique owner Sam Ben-Avraham to found KITH with a sum of $500,000 USD, opening two locations in 2011 in the back of two of Ben-Avraham’s Atrium boutiques in Manhattan and Brooklyn. Fieg’s career included storied collaborations with ASICS and Sebago, before he founded KITH in 2010. The name itself is based on the archaic Scottish term “kith and kin,” which translates to “friends and family.” It’s motto is “Just Us,” used to describe Fieg’s inner circle which includes the likes of NFL player Victor Cruz. It also sold a small jewelry line in 2012 called “Kin,” designed by Fieg’s mother, Batshi. Kith’s Brooklyn location finished a $2 million USD renovation in August 2015, which expanded to include a cereal bar called KITH Treats. A women’s store was opened in December of that year opposite the Manhattan location, coinciding with the debut of KITH’s womenswear line.
