Daisuke Obana‘s Japanese imprint N.HOOLYWOOD and its long-standing partner Converse Addict are back for Spring/Summer 2021, this time around reviving one of the footwear giant’s classic silhouettes from the 1970s.

Following on from its Chuck Taylor Ni Hi from fall last year, N.HOOLYWOOD and Converse Addict’s newest pair looks somewhat similar to today’s Chuck Taylor low. However, the overall profile is more streamlined and various design cues have been implemented to set this pair apart from its common-place counterpart.

For example, the black canvas upper is decorated with a set of waxed rope laces in black or white, while smooth cream-toned cows leather has been used for the interior lining. The toe cap is smaller than that found on a Chuck Taylor and is outlined with visible glue lines that run around the full perimeter of the sneaker, leading the eye to the stark white midsole.

On the midsole, you’ll find stars embossed into the toe cap and a black stripe running around the shoe, drawing you to the heel where a “Converse Athletic Footwear”-branded license plate has been added. Details such as a cloth tongue tag that flips over the tongue and silver-toned metal eyelets round out the upper’s design, while a Vibram EcoStep outsole featuring 30 percent recycled materials can be found underneath, providing unrivaled amounts of comfort for a pair of Converse.

N.HOOLYWOOD and Converse Addict’s latest collaborative sneaker can be seen above and purchased on N.HOOLYWOOD’s website now for ¥ 26,400 JPY (approx. $252 USD) — but be quick, as sizes are already selling out.

In other news, KITH’s newest Nike Air Force 1 collaboration has surfaced.
