Converse Addict Enlists N.HOOLYWOOD for Chuck Taylor Ni Hi Collaboration
Holiday 2020 will also bring a variety of Coach Canvas Hi sneakers.
Converse‘s highly-coveted Japanese sub-division Converse Addict has been working hard behind the scenes, and is now ready to showcase its Holiday 2020 offerings.
This season we have been treated to four pairs of Converse Addict Coach Canvas Hi sneakers, and one super luxurious Chuck Taylor Ni Hi made in collaboration with N.HOOLYWOOD.
Despite its unassuming nature, the N.HOOLYWOOD Chuck Taylor is the standout pair of the roster. It is made from supple black suede and features other luxurious or premium elements all around. For example, the All Star badge on the lateral has been laser-etched into the suede, while its white topstitching has been finished meticulously.
The license plate is a reproduction of the one found on Chuck Taylor All Stars from the 1960s, as is the “Players Name” inner tongue tag, the cotton laces, the sharper-shaped toe cap, and the upper’s reinforcement. There’s a Vibram sole unit, a detachable EVA cup insole, and temperature controlling lining too. Rounding out the pair is the only piece of N.HOOLYWOOD branding, appearing on a leather tab that doubles up as part of the eyestay panel on the lateral.
Joining this pair are four Coach Canvas Hi sneakers, appearing in white, black, green, and purple. All feature a heel tab and license plate taken from the 1970s’ design, a special toe guard and foxing tape that’s finished with embossed stars towards to the toe, a Vibram sole unit, and a special “COACH” lateral patch, which takes from Converse’s athletic shoes of the ’70s.
The Converse Addict Coach Canvas Hi pack will release on October 10 for ¥17,000 JPY (approx. $160 USD), while the N.HOOLYWOOD x Converse Addict Chuck Taylor All Star Ni Hi will drop later on November 10 for ¥25,000 JPY (approx. $235 USD). Take a closer look at the sneakers above, and pick them up from Converse Japan’s Addict website later this year.
