EA Acquires 'Disney Sorcerer's Arena' Developer Glu Mobile for $2.1 Billion USD

Electronic Arts has just acquired San Francisco-based mobile game developer Glu Mobile.

According to a blog post from the two companies, the acquisition set EA back a whopping $2.1 billion USD and furthers the massive gaming giant’s venture into the mobile gaming industry. Through the deal, EA will be able to tap into popular titles including Disney Sorcerer’s ArenaDiner DashDeer Hunter, and WWE Universe.

“Our acquisition of Glu combines amazing teams and deeply-engaging products to create a mobile games leader with proven expertise across many fast-growing genres,” said EA CEO Andrew Wilson in a statement. “Mobile continues to grow as the biggest gaming platform in the world, and with the addition of Glu’s games and talent, we’re doubling the size of our mobile business. With a deep IP portfolio and an expanding global audience, we’ll deliver more exciting experiences for our players and drive further growth for Electronic Arts.”

Elsewhere in gaming, Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time is finally coming to next-gen consoles, Nintendo Switch and PC.
