Nike Celebrates London's Tailoring Heritage With Chelsea 2020/21 Home Jersey
Complete with an all-over herringbone pattern.

After looking to Italian post-modernism for Inter Milan’s new kit, Nike has now revealed the home jersey that Chelsea will wear across the 2020/21 season. The jersey comes in Chelsea’s signature royal blue, which will be matched across the shorts and offset by white socks.
The stand-out feature of the kit is its herringbone pattern, a nod to London’s heritage and history of tailoring. This theme is also referenced in the jersey’s dark blue taping — complete with “The Pride of London” text — which is similar in font and color to the labels sewn into suits.
Speaking about the design, VP of Nike Football Apparel Scott Munson explained the influence, “London is the epicenter of English tailoring and the kit takes its inspiration from this iconic craft. We paid tribute to the work of these skilled tailors with the use of bespoke details and trims to create a really crisp aesthetic, which complements Chelsea’s uniquely stylish identity.”
The new Chelsea home jersey will be worn by the club for the first time on July 1 during the team’s Premier League game against West Ham. The kit is available now from the Nike web store.
