Dana White Reveals First Video Look at UFC "Fight Island"
Taking over 400,000 hours to build.
With UFC 251 set to kick-off July 11, many are wondering how UFC’s “Fight Island” in Yas Island, Abu Dhabi is coming along. The 2,000 square-mile island will be home to four events and is the latest project from Dana White to keep the sport going during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The two video clips shared by Dana on Instagram reveal that the fighters will go through five rounds of testing before their bouts and that there will be three medical centers available. The entire project also took over 400,000 hours of labor with over 350 tonnes of metal. The clips also give us a look at the beachside octagon.
MMA fans can view the videos below. Stay tuned for UFC 251 where the stacked card will see UFC Welterweight champion Kamaru Usman vs Gilbert Burns, Featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski vs Max Holloway (II), and Petr Yan vs José Aldo for the current vacant Bantamweight title.
