Jordan Brand has dropped the all-new 85 Racer, a running sneaker inspired by the Air Jordan 1 in its signature “Chicago” colorway.

The Jordan 85 Racer adopts a “White/University Red/Black” colorway, adding the hues to its synthetic leather and mixed textile upper. Transparent white textile grid-mesh forms the sneaker’s lightweight body, and can be seen on the toe box and mid-panels, while patent synthetic leather appears in red across the toe box, mid-panel supports, eyestay and the wing motif embossed heel cups.

It continues to draw inspiration from the AJ1 with its large black Swoosh and Jumpman logo on the tongue tab, with a final nod coming in the form of a red sole unit. The sole unit itself is super lightweight as it is crafted from responsive Cushlon foam and incorporates a forefoot Zoom Air unit.

Take a look at the homage-paying Jordan 85 Racer in the gallery above, and pick up a pair now on Nike’s website for $100 USD.

In other news, Nike has unveiled the hybridized Jordan Air Max 200.
