AïE's SS20 Lookbook Highlights Rich Summer Palettes and Light Layering
The latest from the Nepenthes family.
Back in July, Nepenthes label AïE showcased its FW19 lineup of Americana-inspired garments with a contemporary twist. The label has returned with its SS20 lookbook, this time showcasing a range of light mid-layers embellished with bold floral prints, soft pastel plaids, rich indigo, and big racing checks.
One noteworthy garment is a vibrant blazer decorated with a medley of sporadic paint splatters. Hues of yellow, green, blue, rose and red splotches cover a black cotton foundation, while wide lapels and relaxed shoulders emphasize its semi-boxy fit — the piece comes with matching pants that have a distinct double-layer panel at the upper legs. Another highlight is a black trucker jacket, emblazoned with a colorful floral pattern. To offset the busy print, the jacket sees black panels around the upper chest, back yoke and arm sleeves. As a finishing note, the piece comes with gunmetal-toned buttons and two snap closures at the upper chest. Other pieces like the nylon pullovers, striped button-up shirt, checkered work pants, and an olive military jacket round up the expansive collection.
