Returning for Spring/Summer 2020, Japanese label Midorikawa has prepared a new collection centered around its signature raw hem and cinched detailing.
Continuing its unique expression on menswear, the latest range reimagines essential wardrobe staples done in tones of black, beige and pink, along with floral patterns and polka dots. Refined outerwear and tops, and relaxed bottoms are all marked with evocative raw hems, straps and cinched details that help convert silhouettes for alternative wear patterns. Midorikawa has also crafted an M51 field jacket and classic rider jacket with premium black leather accented by silver-tone hardware and raw leather patches attached to the hem of the outerwear options.
Rounding up the range is another collaboration with designer Taku Midorikawa’s cousin Shin Murayama, by way of Murayama’s TWONESS NY project. Building on their portrait series, the duo have decided to celebrate Richard David James, best known by the stage name Aphex Twin, with NABSF’s illustrations of the cover art for “Windowlicker” and his Richard D. James album. The graphics also come complete with “WOLFGANG” text to tie the techno and ambient music with Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart prolific and influential composer of the Classical period.
