Jordan Brand and Nike have officially teamed up to unveil the Jordan x Nike Cryoshot Mercurial Vapor 1 “University Red.” The high-profile hybrid silhouette marks the latest addition to Nike’s expansive Cryoshot program, beautifully merging historic football boot aesthetics with classic basketball lineage ahead of the World Cup timeline.

The performance-turned-lifestyle silhouette draws its primary design architecture from the iconic Nike Mercurial Vapor 1, famously worn by Ronaldo Nazário during Brazil’s championship run in the 2002 World Cup. Shifting away from the boot’s original synthetic build, this rendition adopts a luxurious, soft crinkled leather upper blanketed in a vibrant “University Red” palette that honors Chicago Bulls heritage. Premium suede materials are applied directly to the profile Swoosh logos, emphasizing the shoe’s off-pitch lifestyle readiness.

Paying homage to classic Air Jordan DNA, the heel counter features an iridescent elephant print pattern lifted directly from the Air Jordan 3, framed by glossy chrome trim accents. Underfoot, the model swaps its performance spikes for a street-ready clear TPU outsole unit. This translucent tooling encases a modified cleat plate while sealing a graphic print of Michael Jordan from Nike’s historic 1996 “Frozen Moment” commercial underneath the heel, finalized by an eye-catching “Infrared 23” Jumpman emblem.
