After a recent first look at some of the collaborative products, Disney and Gucci have released the campaign imagery for their Chinese New Year collection. The range is themed around Mickey Mouse in homage to the Chinese Year of the Mouse (or Rat), with a number of references to the iconic character appearing across everything from sweatshirts, coats and cardigans to accessories, footwear and bags.
A stand-out theme for the collection is the all-new Mini GG Supreme canvas with a Mickey Mouse print. This material features the iconic interlocking G pattern complete with Mickey Mouse repeated across it. This print is a reference to one of Gucci’s classic ’80s fabrics, with the original design, color and look all reproduced through high-definition digital printing.
This graphic-rich canvas is used on handbags, small leather goods, luggage and shoes, as well as a previously-seen coat. Elsewhere in the collection, other pieces feature an all-over Mickey and Minnie mouse colorful print, embroidered patches and jacqurd motifs.
