Converse Chuck 70 Hi Gets Duo Of Preppy Makeovers
Part of Converse’s “Varsity” line.
Converse‘s popular Chuck 70 enjoyed a banner year in 2019, and it’s looking to carry that momentum forward into the new decade with two preppy makeups. Part of Converse’s “Varsity” line and presented in “Tan/Burgundy/Black” plus “Green/Orange/White,” both of these striped canvas Chuck 70 Hi versions feature alternating colorblocking that represents retro school ties.
First up is “Tan/Burgundy/Black.” Utilizing rich earthy hues, it flips between a brown lateral side with thin black stripes and a burgundy medial side with thick blue and thin gold stripes. Laces present a black/burgundy checkered pattern, heel tabs go gold and burgundy, and outsoles offer final touches of burgundy and gold detailing.
Next is “Green/Orange/White.” Taking on a more playful look than its slightly serious counterpart, this style presents steel grey lateral panels with two-tone burnt orange and black stripes. Medial sides call upon various earthy brown hues, with heel tabs injecting pops of vibrant pink to contrast a dark green. Pink and green striped outsoles round things off.
Although each panel is wildly different, both pairs proudly present a classic Converse badge on the medial collar and a high-gloss eggshell midsole/toe cap. Black Converse hits on the midsole’s heel proffer an apt finishing touch.
Each of these collegiate-themed Chuck 70 His are available now via END. and HBX’s webstore with a retail price of approximately $105 USD.
