Between the recent New Guards Group investment, Disney and UNIQLO collaboration, and co-founder Yoon Ahn‘s work jewelry work for Dior menswear, it’s a wonder that AMBUSH is able to find time for its seasonal collections. At yet here we are, with the Fall/Winter 2020 lookbook showcasing a compelling blend of contemporary design and timeless shapes.

Carrying over key elements of Spring/Summer 2020, including immense headwear and giant geta-inspired sandals, AMBUSH’s latest offering is rich with generous cuts. Long coats, slouchy sweaters and billowing trousers inform the looks, also boasting a variety of reshaped staples. The latter includes a host of tweaked bombers and blazers — an appropriate hybrid of street and smart — transformed into collarless trench coats, double-layered jackets and even cropped short, complete with raw hems.

New iterations of the previously-seen fuzzy and weatherproof Converse sneakers are also on hand, emerging in muted black to complement the understated work shirts, trucker jackets and track pants the appear throughout. Nods to traditional Asian garments include kimono-style coats and similarly sleek layering pieces, reinforcing a sense of seasonless ease. AMBUSH’s signature jewelry appears throughout, by way of gold bangles, silver rings and neck-encircling lighter holders.

Elsewhere at Paris Fashion Week, we saw colorful collections from the likes of Dries Van Noten, Botter and HOMME PLISSÉ Issey Miyake.
