Traveling decorative arts gallery Gabriel&Guillaume recently launched its first New York exhibition located within the Landmark Penthouse atop Steinway Hall in New York City. Co-presented by frenchCALIFORNIA, the showcase features rare pieces from 1900 to 2019 by renowned artists, photographers, and designers. Highlights include an early sofa by Zaha Hadid from the late 1980s, Gio Ponti’s bookcase from the late 1940s, archival photos from Robert Mapplethorpe, as well as a rare collection of sculptures from Max Ernst.

Comprised of two floors, the historic residence boasts over 5,000-square-feet of space complete with a lavish upper-level master suite, private terraces, and four bathrooms priced at $21 million USD. “For our first exhibition in New York City, right after our participation at the Salon Art + Design fair, we couldn’t have dreamt of a better place than the gorgeous Landmark Penthouse, whose architecture evokes at the same time a French hotel particulier and a roaring twenties glamorous home,” said a spokesperson for Gabriel&Guillaume.
