New 'Pokémon Sword' and 'Shield' Trailer Introduces Galarian Forms
A couple of Generation 3 Pokémon get new forms.
Nintendo and The Pokémon Company released a new trailer for Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield, detailing new Galarian forms and evolutions, including a new version of Weezing, Zigzagoon, and Linoone.
Weezing, one of the original 150 Pokémon, now has a new region-specific form, complete with a chimney top hat and facial hair made of toxins. Zigzagoon and Linoone, evolution forms from Generation 3, now have a new black and white Galarian colorway, alongside a new evolution named Obstagoon.
We also got a look at some new Pokémon like the hamster-influenced Morpeko, which has a “full belly” and “hangry mode” that changes its color from yellow and brown to black and purple. This changes its signature move Aura Wheel from an electric-type to a dark-type.
According to Morpeko’s page on the Sword and Shield website, it’s “always hungry, no matter how much it eats” and “when experiencing prolonged hunger, the balance of hormones within Morpeko’s body changes.”
Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield releases for the Nintendo Switch on November 15.
In other gaming news, Apex Legends just added a Solo Mode.
Case in point: Meet Morpeko!
Morpeko constantly generates electricity with the sacs in its cheeks, which consumes energy, causing Morpeko to be constantly hungry.
