Denzel Curry Announces New Album & Drops "Speedboat" Audiovisual
A new project in just ten months.
Hot off the heels of his previous full-length album TA13OO, Renaissance hip-hop artist Denzel Curry has returned with a surprising new announcement that his next album, ZUU, will be arriving next week on May 31. It has been ten months since the renowned artist released his critically acclaimed LP, yet for Curry, the energy remains at an all-time high. Just recently the Florida rapper shared his collaborative single with Charlie Heat, “Aloha,” dropped his last visual for TA1300 in March, released the high-energy single “Ricky,” and just yesterday his single with Flying Lotus, “Black Balloons Reprise,” was premiered. If there’s one artist in the industry whose energy remains at the top both qualitatively and quantitatively, it’s Denzel Curry.
To commemorate the announcement, Curry has gone ahead and shared the audiovisual for his latest track “Speedboat.” As is signature with the artist’s visual accompaniments, cinematography takes priority — the latest video sees Curry channeling a mix of Bad Boys meets Miami Vice, and more. It’s filled with well-cut scenes, beautiful camera work, high-speed chases, and a plethora of explosions.
You can check out the video for “Speedboat” above. Denzel Curry’s forthcoming album ZUU will arrive on May 31 via Loma Vista Recordings. The rapper will be completing the album with a tour alongside Billie Eilish, later joining $uicideboy$ to finish out the Summer dates. Curry is set to headline a European tour later this year.
