Beabadoobee has officially announced her highly anticipated fourth studio album, Pylon, scheduled for release on September 18 via Dirty Hit and Interscope Records. Serving as the follow-up to her UK number-one record This Is How Tomorrow Moves, the 14-track project marks a distinct musical evolution for the singer-songwriter, introducing a harsher, more direct sonic palette inspired by classic grunge, midwest emo and ’90s radio rock. Named after the electricity towers that line major global highways, the album symbolizes both the waves of distortion running through the tracklist and the intense feelings of isolation Laus experienced while on tour. The title reflects the project’s themes of distance, connection and emotional instability, framing Pylon as a record shaped by both movement and solitude.
Coinciding with the album announcement, beabadoobee has shared the project’s leading single, “Sun Has Set,” alongside an accompanying music video. Capturing a raw, journal-entry style of songwriting, the track serves as a fierce declaration of unsaid grievances, delivering what Laus describes as a “petty tunnel vision” directed at those who wronged her. The single arrives with a striking first-person visual directed by her partner and longtime creative collaborator Jake Erland, establishing the uncompromising, high-distortion aesthetic of the upcoming era.
To support the release, beabadoobee will embark on “The Powerlines Tour”, marking her first-ever headline arena run across North America, the UK and Europe this fall and winter. Kicking off on October 1, the massive trek includes milestone stops at legendary venues such as New York’s Madison Square Garden, Los Angeles’ Kia Forum and London’s The O2, with supporting performances from Wisp and Violet Grohl on select dates.
Fans looking to secure tickets can participate in the artist presale beginning June 29 at 10 a.m. local time, with additional exclusive allocations available via Verizon and Spotify’s new Premium “Reserved” program. Remaining tickets will open to the public during the general onsale on July 2 at 10 a.m. local time through the artist’s official live portal.
