Blurring the lines between nostalgic eras and crisp modernity, Studio Nicholson’s Fall 2026 collection delivers a beautifully cinematic look at real-world wardrobing. Founder and Creative Director Nick Wakeman anchored the season’s mood in a diverse web of mid-century and late-20th-century style references, pulling inspiration from Ang Lee’s 1997 film The Ice Storm, the tailored composure of writer Pier Paolo Pasolini and Lee Radziwill’s upper-crust leisurewear.
Photographed by Stanislas Motz-Neidhart on location at a remarkably preserved 1960s modernist house, the accompanying campaign visuals play with dramatic architecture, soft natural window light and vertical indoor blinds. Models pose in shadows across wood-paneled walls and retro tiled rooms, perfectly encapsulating a moody, sophisticated and deeply thoughtful retro-modern narrative.
The seasonal range highlights Wakeman’s exceptional knack for producing clothing that is simultaneously elegant yet tough, relying on premium fabric choices to drive texture. The collection introduces several strong, unisex jacket propositions — spearheaded by the Bowe jacket, which is cut from supple mustard-toned natural grain suede with a classic shirt collar and the Landau, a distressed, slim-cut chestnut leather blazer evoking ’90s Milan.
For womenswear, the tailored Lurie jacket combines a brown marl wool-cotton twill with a leather undercollar, a throat latch and a belted waist. This outerwear is balanced by architectural trouser shapes, including the voluminous Faron pant in utility green with hard-pressed creases and adjustable hem straps, alongside the chic, 100% virgin wool Quarte tapered pant executed in a bark melange fabric.
The collection’s utility influences flow seamlessly into the menswear offering, which embraces vintage workwear and military precision through an enzyme-brushed double cotton that mimics the soft touch of moleskin. Key styles include the Drey jacket, the relaxed Minard trousers and the Ravel pant, which features a cropped, curved leg and utility thigh pockets cut from a rugged cotton military canvas. These structured elements pair back to lightweight knitwear underpinnings, including merino-silk turtlenecks featuring delicate ladder-stitch details, cashmere waffle-knit Henleys, and cardigans rendered in fuzzy topaz mohair. Grounding each look are the brand’s newest bag shapes – the wide-shaped Hagu shoulder bag and the V-shaped Hoho neat tote – crafted in premium ebony suede, olive suede, and black lambskin leather to complete a purposeful, real, and thoroughly useful seasonal uniform.
