Ronnie Fieg and New Balance have debuted the 2011, the first original New Balance silhouette to come from their fifteen-year collaboration, releasing as the centerpiece of the Kith x New Balance 15th Anniversary collection. The silhouette’s name directly references 2011, the year Kith was established, and its launch is timed to the opening of New Balance at Kith, a new collaborative retail space on the lower level of the Kith West Hollywood flagship.

The 2011 has been two years in development. Fieg worked alongside New Balance designer Sam Pearce, who previously developed the 991v2, to build an upper from scratch using an intricate multi-panel construction. The tooling pulls from the original New Balance 2002, with ABZORB cushioning carried over from that silhouette’s platform. The result sits within New Balance’s heritage running archive while introducing an entirely new upper architecture.

The four colorways divide across two distinct material executions. “Bark” and “Redwood” are constructed from premium boot leather with tonal canvas underlays and tree ring-inspired topstitching. “Leaf” and “Sakura” take a color-blocked approach, combining premium micro-pinched underlays with pigskin suede panels. All four styles ship with custom-printed footbeds and three additional lace options. The commemorative packaging ties the colorway naming to a broader visual narrative: watercolor illustrations depict a young Fieg planting a seed representing Kith, tending to it over fifteen years as it grows into a tree with branches, flowers, and leaves, with the four colorways mapping to different stages of that growth.

The 2011 releases alongside a wider Kith & New Balance 15th Anniversary apparel and accessories collection comprising reimagined technical jackets, shorts, mesh jerseys, and headwear. The full collection represents the breadth of the partnership across fifteen years and more than thirty prior collaborative silhouettes.

On the retail side, New Balance at Kith opens June 26 on the lower level of Kith West Hollywood. The space carries a curated assortment of men’s and women’s New Balance apparel, past and present Kith & New Balance collaborative collections, and a Japanese menswear assortment. Its footwear wall stocks over 200 pairs across men’s, women’s, and kids’ New Balance silhouettes, with exclusive colorways of the 99X Series, Made in USA styles, and distribution of New Balance Grey for the American market.

The Bark and Redwood colorways of the 2011 are exclusive to New Balance at Kith and will not be available at any other Kith location or online. Both the in-store exclusive colorways and the full anniversary collection debut June 26 at New Balance at Kith ahead of the wider global launch.

The Leaf and Sakura colorways of the 2011, along with the full Kith & New Balance 15th Anniversary apparel and accessories collection, release Monday, June 29 at all US Kith stores, Kith Toronto, and online at 11 a.m. EST online.
