HBO Max‘s July 2026 programming slate includes five major premieres across originals, films, and documentary series. The month runs from the HBO Original Documentary Series The Man Will Burn on July 9 through to A24‘s The Drama, starring Zendaya and Robert Pattinson, on July 31.

The Man Will Burn opens the month’s premium programming on July 9, with episodes rolling out weekly across four installments. The HBO Original Documentary Series is directed by Jehane Noujaim and Vikram Gandhi, tracing Burning Man’s arc from its 1986 origins in San Francisco’s counterculture scene to its current form as an annual gathering of 80,000 attendees in the Nevada desert. The series follows the organization through a period of significant internal turmoil, examining how the event has worked to stay operational while maintaining its founding values. HBO Documentary Films presents the series in association with Double Agent, Noujaim Films, and The Othrs, with executive producers including Nina Fialkow, David Fialkow, Nushin Sabet, Farhad Mohit, Jehane Noujaim, Karim Amer, and Vikram Gandhi.

Francis Lawrence’s adaptation of Stephen King‘s The Long Walk arrives on July 10 via Lionsgate. The film is based on King’s first-written novel and follows a cast that includes Cooper Hoffman, David Jonsson, Garrett Wareing, Tut Nyuot, Charlie Plummer, Ben Wang, Roman Griffin Davis, Jordan Gonzalez, Joshua Odjick, Josh Hamilton, Judy Greer, and Mark Hamill. Lawrence previously directed The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, Mockingjay Parts 1 and 2, and The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes. The screenplay is by JT Mollner, with the film produced by Roy Lee, Steven Schneider, Francis Lawrence, and Cameron MacConomy.

A24’s Marc by Sofia debuts July 16, directed by Sofia Coppola and produced by Coppola, Jane Cha Cutler, R.J. Cutler, Elise Pearlstein, and Trevor Smith. The film is described as an intimate, unconventional portrait of Marc Jacobs, with executive producers including Roman Coppola and Youree Henley. Jacobs appears as the film’s sole credited cast member.

Stuart Fails to Save the Universe premieres July 23 as a Max Original Comedy Series, with 10 episodes rolling out weekly. The series is created, written, and executive produced by Chuck Lorre, Zak Penn, and Bill Prady, from Chuck Lorre Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television. Kyle Newacheck executive produces and directs multiple episodes. The series centers on comic book store owner Stuart Bloom, played by Kevin Sussman reprising the role from The Big Bang Theory, who accidentally triggers a multiverse collapse after breaking a device built by Sheldon and Leonard. Sussman is joined by Lauren Lapkus as Denise, Brian Posehn as Bert, and John Ross Bowie as Barry Kripke. The series incorporates alternate-universe versions of characters from the original show.

A24’s The Drama closes out the month on July 31. Written and directed by Kristoffer Borgli, the film stars Zendaya, Robert Pattinson, Alana Haim, Mamoudou Athie, and Hailey Benton Gates. The film follows an engaged couple whose wedding week is derailed by an unexpected development. It is produced by Lars Knudsen, Ari Aster, and Tyler Campellone.

Additional July arrivals include Ocean’s Eight on July 12, Dumb Money on July 13, and Pacific Rim: Uprising on July 17.
