Blancpain has embraced a highly requested shift toward refined proportions with its latest Villeret novelties. Moving away from oversized cases, the Swiss manufacture introduces a masterclass in restraint by shrinking the classic Villeret Ultraplate to a versatile 38mm diameter. Alongside these elegant three-hand models, Blancpain is also catering to lovers of compact high-complications with new 29.2mm Quantième Phases de Lune models.
The highlight of the new 38mm Ultraplate lineup is the introduction of a sunburst salmon dial — a first for the entire Villeret collection. The dial is a result of Blancpain spending a considerable time perfecting a warm finish that dances beautifully between copper, rose and gold depending on the light. Housed in a stainless steel case measuring just 8.35mm thick, the dial is accented by black-treated 18k gold Roman numerals, featuring the brand’s JB monogram replacing the traditional XII. To complete this sophisticated, mood-driven aesthetic, the $12,700 USD timepiece is paired with an anthracite grey nubuck strap equipped with a tool-free interchangeable system.
In addition, a boutique-exclusive bicolor Ultraplate that pairs a stainless steel case with solid 18k yellow-gold hands and Roman numerals is also introduced. Set against a warm gold-toned opaline dial and secured by an olive-green nubuck strap, it delivers a considered, confident design that reads as anything but safe. The 38mm range is rounded out by a standard steel version with a gold-toned opaline dial and a luxurious 18k red gold variant. All 38mm models are powered by the in-house Calibre 1150 automatic movement, which utilizes a silicon balance spring to deliver a robust 100-hour power reserve. The stainless steel Ultraplate models are priced at $12,700 USD, while the 18k red gold edition retails for $26,100 USD.
Complementing the Ultraplate line, Blancpain introduces two new Quantième Phases de Lune models housed in elegantly compact 29.2mm cases. Available in either 18k red gold or stainless steel, these timepieces feature a sparkling bezel set with a single row of diamonds and a golden opaline dial accented with diamond hour markers. At 6 o’clock, Blancpain’s signature smiling moon phase peers out from a starry blue ceramic disc, accompanied by a blue serpentine hand indicating the date. Measuring 10.35mm thick, the watches are driven by the 246-component Calibre 913QL automatic movement, which incorporates a patented secure calendar-correction system to prevent accidental damage during adjustments. Releasing alongside the 38mm novelties, these exquisite high-complication models are priced at $20,300 USD in steel and $29,000 USD in red gold.
