Peak Design Reimagines the Perfect Travel Tripod
Fits inside a bottle pocket.
Camera gear makers Peak Design has returned with yet another innovative product: a reimagined travel tripod, coming in two versions: aluminum and carbon fiber. With four years of research and development behind the design, this travel tripod measures at half the volume of most conventional tripods, producing a compact, portable mount that can fit in the bottle pocket of your backpack, all the time providing you with the same performance of a full-sized tripod. This photographer’s best friend can be deployed rapidly at almost half the time it takes a standard tripod, and comes with a quick-release plate capable of supporting a full-frame DSLR with a telephoto lens, an articulating ball head, a single ring for total head adjustment, as well as a phone mount and a soft case to protect it during your journey.
To complement its highly-portable size, Peak Design’s travel tripod is extremely light: the aluminum version weighs in at just 3.44 pounds, and the carbon fiber version at an even lighter 2.81 pounds. If you want to take your travel photography to the next level, the Peak Design Travel Tripod is now taking pre-orders over at its Kickstarter page. The aluminium model price is set at $289 USD, while the carbon fiber version is priced at $479 USD. Both are expected to ship by the end of this year.
