Bassvictim Announces New Album 'PEACE + WAR' and Drops “White Flag”

Bassvictim, the collaborative project of vocalist and songwriter Maria Manow and producer Ike Clateman, has carved out a singular space defined by raw candor and an unapologetic willingness to take risks. The duo just announced their upcoming album, PEACE + WAR, set to drop on November 6th. Alongside the project’s announcement, they’ve released a new single, “White Flag.” Opening with Maria’s hushed vocals and building into a rush of blown-out textures, “White Flag” sees Bassvictim lean into their clubbier instincts and push their sound toward the dancefloor.

After early releases like Basspunk and Basspunk 2, Bassvictim released their debut album Forever, followed by their EP, ?. Building on their signature sound of abrasive electronics and warped pop sensibilities, PEACE + WAR finds the two self-observant and strikingly tender. Over 19 tracks, Maria’s lyrics are whispered across biting distortion as they twist and turn into Ike’s bruising electronic production. Vulnerability and volatility run through the record, and the thrill lies in the unexpected, with subtle humor and provocation at its center. 

Bassvictim is currently on their headline White Flag North American tour, making stops in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, Portland, Austin, and Miami, and will continue to Chicago, Philadelphia, and more before concluding in New York on Halloween night. Bassvictim will then continue with select European dates, including Paris and London.
