BEDWIN & THE HEARTBREAKERS has unveiled the “BUFFALO Jacket,” a special-order MA-1 created with Japan-based ATTITUDE Artist KIPSSO for Fall/Winter 2026. The jacket draws on the MA-1 worn as a uniform by BUFFALO, the creative collective that formed around Ray Petri in 1980s Britain, and arrives in a standard “BUFFALO” model and a hand-customized “BUFFALO SPECIAL.”
Both versions share the same foundation, starting with a shell of lightweight, densely woven nylon twill that blocks wind and shrugs off light rain and dirt. Inside, a glossy red satin lining contrasts with the black exterior, while padding adds insulation for colder months. The cut is where the jacket departs from a standard flight jacket, pairing a roomy body with a dramatically shortened length that echoes silhouettes from the 1960s. Each model is made from 100% nylon and comes in sizes No. 2 through No. 5.
The regular “BUFFALO” model keeps things clean, finished with an original button badge designed for the release. Officially labeled as a THEKILLER Ex. piece, it presents the shape and materials with minimal embellishment.
The “BUFFALO SPECIAL” is where KIPSSO’s hand comes in. Each jacket carries his ATTITUDE TALISMANS, one-of-a-kind charms that he attaches individually, so no two pieces are identical. KIPSSO also applied panels of African batik, a gift from his mentor Michael Costiff, across the chest and sleeves himself. On the back, a broad white slash reworks the red “KILLER SLASH” worn by members of THEKILLER, the creative collective KIPSSO leads.
The BEDWIN & THE HEARTBREAKERS x KIPSSO “BUFFALO Jacket” drops October 24 at 12 p.m. JST via the BEDWIN & THE HEARTBREAKERS online store and select stockists. Both models will also be available at a two-day release event and KIPSSO pop-up at ARCD STORE in Jiyugaoka, Tokyo, running October 24 and 25 from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m.
