Sage Elsesser Continues Rap Psuedonym Navy Blue With New Cut "Higher Self"
Releasing a Ryosuke Tanzawa directed visual alongside the track.
You’ve probably seen him in a Supreme lookbook or skating the streets in his Converse-sponsored sneakers, but Sage Elsesser is much more than just a model-meets-skater. The multi-hyphenate is just as talented when it comes to rapping and writing out bars under his Navy Blue pseudonym. Following his from the heart… EP that released late last year, the New York-based creative has now returned with a brand new single and video titled “Higher Self.”
Produced by Demahjiae, the new cut is nothing short of a tour de force — eerie piano loops and ambient fills grace the track, laying a relaxed basis for Elsesser to lay down strikingly-vivid metaphors and powerfully-packed double entendres. The Ryosuke Tanzawa directed visual builds on these motifs — it’s shot in an analog-style, relaying Navy Blue’s portrayal of the world through black and white and heavily grainy edits as he walks through New York.
