Back in June, multidisciplinary artist and designer Sterling Ruby presented his first-ever clothing collection on the runway as the Special Guest of Pitti Immagine Uomo. The S.R. STUDIO. LA. CA. “THERAPIST BOOT,” which debuted at the show, has dropped today. Available in LACE-UP and SLIP-ON iterations, the chunky shoe takes inspiration from early military jungle boots and utilitarian designs.
Both versions of the “THERAPIST” sport black leather uppers, contrasting white branding on the heel and a raised lug sole. While the LACE-UP boot boasts a “S.R. STUDIO. LA. CA.” logo tag on its elongated tongue and perforated mesh detailing, decorated heel and tongue tabs inform the SLIP-ON version, along with elasticized gussets at the sides. Made in Italy, the robust black boots offer a stylish yet sturdy footwear option for the cold weather season.
The boot release follows the brand’s most recent knitwear drop under the SOTO division. Conceived and collaged by Ruby himself, the series of photographs that accompanied the fourth collection unveiled the bold boots paired with ready-to-wear pieces.
