Multidisciplinary artist turned fashion designer Sterling Ruby and his label S.R. STUDIO. LA. CA. presents collection four, dropping a bold selection of knitwear under the brand’s SOTO division and more.
SOTO is the name used by Ruby to define the garments developed and handworked by the Sterling Ruby Studio. As a result, pieces such as the bold green cardigan and oversized bouclé knit fuzzy jumper with orange chain detailing dominate the collection thanks to their hand-made nature, which is noted by a large tag at the hem of each piece.
Elsewhere, S.R. STUDIO. LA. CA. offers a poncho, barn coat, overall and pullover hoodie, with each exposed to multiple treatments of dyeing, washing, and rinsing that bleaches and weathers the fabrics for a unique finish. More playful garments come in the form of T-shirts, hoodies and jeans that sport graphics that are taken from Ruby’s fine art pieces such as flags, tools, artifacts, cleaning supplies, and sculptures.
