Stella McCartney Gives adidas Stan Smith Another Vegan Makeover for SS20
Featuring rainbow laces and a “Three Stripes” star pattern.
After partnering with Hunter for a minimalist Wellington boot, Stella McCartney is rejoins adidas for a new take on the iconic Stan Smith sneaker in time for Spring/Summer 2020.
Last year, the duo constructed the first-ever vegan Stan Smith, giving the shoe a reworked star pattern and a burgundy and blue stripe down the heel. Continuing with Stella McCartney’s commitment to cruelty-free, sustainable practices, the second iteration of adidas’ vegan Stan Smith takes inspiration from the rainbow hues found in the designer’s Spring/Summer 2020 collection.
McCartney’s latest adidas sneaker collaboration also comes with two pairs of interchangeable laces: white for a sleek and traditional look and rainbow for a more playful accent. Revamped in a light colorway appropriate for SS20, the sneakers are printed with Stan Smith’s portrait on the tongue of the right shoe and McCartney’s signed portrait on the left. White and black stripes adorn the heel, while a rainbow gradient shows through a star pattern that makes up adidas’ signature Three Stripes branding.
Launching December 2, the Stella McCartney x Stan Smith sneakers will retail for £235 (approx. $300 USD) on Stella McCartney’s website, at in-store locations and at select retailers worldwide.
Elsewhere, Sneakersnstuff celebrated its 20th anniversary by linking up with adidas Consortium for four collaborative silhouettes.
