PLEASURES and Converse Team up for Punk Rock-Inspired Pro Leather
With a unique multi-layered upper and bold printed graphics.
Known for vivid graphic hits and a bold ethos, LA-based brand PLEASURES has brought its signature style to Converse‘s classic Pro Leather for a unique collaboration. Inspired by punk rock and boasting bold layered detailing, the one-time basketball silhouette worn by the likes of Julius “Dr. J” Irving has been pushed in a bold new direction.
The Pro Leather’s high-cut upper provides a capable canvas for bold printed patterns. Stark white punk-style graphics sit on a black Tyvek base, ranging from a sneering visage to a “Stop Lying To Yourself” hit. Delicate by design, this crinkled construction is made to wear down over time, letting the print gradually fade for a truly individual broken-in style. It’s protected by a translucent outer layer with a Converse Chevron logo that ensures the print doesn’t fade too fast. The rest of the upper is constructed of shaggy black suede with a bold rubberized “PLEASURES NOW” wordmark gracing the heel.
Meanwhile, the midsole features doubled-up detailing, placing the foxing from a Converse Chuck 70 above its standard white rubber construction to further the textured look, and a red stamp on the outsole concludes the stylings.
The PLEASURES x Converse Pro Leather will release on Converse.com and at select Converse stockists on November 21 for $110 USD.
Elsewhere in the world of footwear, Jordan Brand is releasing a new Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG — dubbed the “Bloodline” and inspired by a memorable 1985 commercial — on Black Friday.
