The Air Jordan 34 Receives a Stark "Eclipse" Colorway
A classic black and white mix for the high-performance Air Jordan.
The latest silhouette in Jordan Brand‘s lauded Air Jordan line, the Air Jordan 34 is set to release in a black/white colorway dubbed “Eclipse.” Packed full of Nike/Jordan’s most advanced tech and backed by NBA players like Jayson Tatum and Zion Williamson, the AJ34 is part of a compelling wave of new performance basketball footwear, but here it looks back to the classics with a simple — yet ever-effective — palette.
Crafted to be lightweight and responsive, the upper opts for a black mesh base and black synthetic tongue. Structure and style are provided by the white heel — the former by a sturdy heel clip, the latter by a multiplied Jumpman logo, giving off an air of rapid movement. Down below, the midsole is all about explosiveness. Two pieces of jet-black Pebax plastic are combined with a large forefoot Zoom Air unit for the maximum bounce required by the game’s highest leapers, while more Zoom in the heel ensures shock absorption. A herringbone traction pattern on the outsole and high-vis reflective details scattered across the upper complete the look.
The Air Jordan 34 “Eclipse” will release at Nike.com on November 7. The retail price is set at $180 USD.
Meanwhile on the casual footwear front, Nike recently unveiled Kendrick Lamar‘s newest collaborative shoe: a marbled React Element 55.
