Helly Hansen Japan has tapped Parisian label FUTUR for its Ocean Shadow Series, a capsule made up of stealthy black hi-tech outerwear. The lineup is comprised of a flight cap, a vest, a pair of nylon pants and a light zip-up jacket, all of which were inspired by military specs.
Each piece in the capsule is constructed with sleek black nylon fabric that’s both light and water-resistant. To offset the dark shades, every garment has been stamped with 3M detailing. One highlight in the range is the Sea Shadow Jacket (named after the US Navy Sea Shadow stealth ship from 1982), coming with multiple pockets and a hood. The jacket includes raised velcro collars marked with “H/H” branding, while reflective strips appear along the hood, upper-middle chest and right arm. At the front body lie four compartments with velcro openings, complemented by hidden zippers at the side of them. Another noteworthy piece is the flight cap which sees a five-panel build at the top. Four brass rivets appear along the front, with two at the front panel and the other two at the edge of the rim. Supple fleece-lined earflaps hang from the top as finishing notes to the piece. Other garments like the tactical pants and vest round up the concise capsule.
The FUTUR x Helly Hansen Japan Ocean Shadow Series will be available on November 8 at goldwin.co.jp.
