Vault by Vans and Kar L’Art De L’Automobile Drop “Exhaust Black Edition” Old Skool
Featuring a flaming exhaust design that looks like it’s “coming out like it was 12,000 RPM.”

Kar L’Art de L’Automobile, the fashion platform and automotive house founded by Arthur Kar, has announced its latest collaborative footwear release, again with Vault by Vans — following a previous collaboration in 2020.
This latest drop adds to its growing list of collaborative sneaker and apparel releases, which to date include names like Carhartt, Salomon, Porsche, Dover Street Market and more.
Dubbed the “VANS L’ART EXHAUST BLACK EDITION,” the latest pair with Vault by Vans features a subtle all-black Vans Old Skool, constructed in what appears to be rough suede. Details include embossing at the top of the toe box and minimal branding on the medial side of the shoe, with the brand’s name printed across a leather Old Skool stripe logo.
More notably, the pair features a “L’ART” branded exhaust system at the lateral side of each shoe, which the brand says features flames that “come out like it was at 12,000 RPM.” The bottom of the pairs features “BREAK” and “GAS” lettering in the same color as the flames featured on the exterior of the shoe. L’art recommends those who purchase the shoes “wear them and drive fast or walk fast.”
While some size options have sold out since the drop, there is still a range of limited quantities available on L’Art’s official site, with the pairs being priced at €120 Euro or $126 USD.
