The Spring/Summer 2024 fashion week season comes to a close with Shanghai Fashion Week this October. With the month marking the harvest festival in Chinese culture, the fashion capital also celebrated the change to autumnal weather.
In its 21st year, Shanghai Fashion Week brought a buzz to the city, bringing international buyers, press and more to attend. Hyperoom hosted a fashion and art exhibition during the event in the city’s Huangpu district. It saw Seoul-based brands like CARNET-ARCHIVE, GRAILZ, Helinox, and Project G/R showcase their collection alongside Sillage, Juntae Kim, Oakley and more. Exciting future forward brands like XANDER ZHOU re-examined human evolution as intergalactic scientists while CLOT opens a new chapter of creativity with collaborative pieces from sacai, 1017 ALYX 9SM, The North Face and more for SS24.
Hypebeast was on the ground to capture some of the best street style trends from the week. Eclectic and vibrant styles riddled the street with many focusing on expressing their individual style with grunge, neons and accessories. Accessories like AMBUSH‘s log-embossed lighter necklace, Y/Project earrings and their iconic branded belt continued to be staples amongst fashion week attendees, while the jersey trend finds its way to China in the form of Balenciaga‘s sports-infused oversized t-shirts.
