Chinese designer XANDER ZHOU is at the top of his field, positioning himself on global platforms in London and Shanghai. While the designer has shown at London Fashion Week since 2013, he returns home for Spring/Summer 2024, unveiling his latest collection at Shanghai Fashion Week.
XANDER ZHOU has made a name for himself by combining artificial intelligence and fashion through a dystopian lens, continuing his journey for SS24. The collection examines human evolution in ultra-modern galaxies while attending the designer’s “PRO A.I.VOLUTION Intergalactic Expo.” Interstellar researchers come alive on the runway, introducing dehumanized species that define tomorrow.
Dystopian men with a determined mindset marked commencement, speaking on brightened phones in form-fitting suits with clear body casing. They carried grandiose briefcases ready for work while mechanical garments grew protruding reptile tales. Shielding uniforms were cemented in metal, seeing utilitarian outerwear expand through zippered mechanisms, revealing additional layers beneath.
Leather bomber jackets were sharpened with geometric figures, holding models in place like zombies. Others walked with extended arms, signaling danger by wearing plastic masks to filter air pollution. Denim suiting and ribbed underwear were preserved in transparent shields, completing the collection with battle-ready costumes controlled by duplicated body parts.
