UPDATE (September 10, 2019): To celebrate the launch of the exclusive “Motorsport” capsule collection, L’Art De l’Automobile has set up a special installation at Dover Street Market NY. Backdropped by an action shot of different racecars and the DSM logo, the installation falls in line with the capsule’s celebration of all types of racing. In addition to the logo-heavy T-shirt, the L’Art De l’Automobile Street Legal Cap and the DSM Drive-In Air Freshener are also up for grabs to complete the look.
ORIGINAL STORY (September 3, 2019): Dover Street Market has teamed up with Arthur Kar‘s automobile culture-inspired brand L’Art De l’Automobile to offer a exclusive capsule collection called “Motorsport.” Closely following L’Art De l’Automobile’s “Drive-In Theater” collection and installation that debuted at Dover Street Market LA last month, “Motorsport” will celebrate racing in all forms, from organized races like Le Mans to street legal racing.
“Motorsport” consists of a logo-heavy T-shirt design offered in both white and black. The front features the DSM logo in a retro racing font with a chrome finish atop the phrase “Dover Street Motorsport” and beside Dover Street Market’s iconic logo. The back of the tee simply states “L’Art De l’Automobile” in a clean typeface below “Kar” in bold tonal lettering with a contrasting outline.
In addition to the logo T-shirt, L’Art De l’Automobile will also be releasing a DSMNY exclusive version of its Classic Garage T-shirt, which has previously seen special editions for The broken arm, Colette and Jon & Vinny. Similar to the “Drive-In Theater” capsule in LA, “Motorsport” will also be accompanied by an in-store installation.
