Levi’s and New Balance Team Up for a Duo of Denim-Dressed 990v3 Styles
Each pair features Levi’s famed Shrink-To-Fit denim and New Balance’s signature hairy suede.

When Levi’s and New Balance join forces, the result is often as Americana as it gets, and the partners’ just-revealed duo of 990v3 collaborations is no exception. Arriving in “Indigo” and “Grey” for a nod to each brand’s signature palette, both of these new takes on the 990v3 offer an appealing mix of tone and texture with plenty of special details to boot.
“Indigo” and “Grey” alike feature a base layer that’s composed of Levi’s famed Shrink-To-Fit denim — which is often used on the legendary 501 jeans — and extra hairy sude overlays inspired by the back of Levi’s leather patches. “Indigo” keeps things mostly tonal by mixing a trifecta of blues, while “Grey” contrasts its two grey shades with touches of cream. Both pairs also supply co-branded midfoot detailing, with a Levi’s pocket tab stitched to the quarter panel’s N logo. Two-tone ENCAP midsoles provide comfort, and the “Indigo” ties its look off with cream laces while “Grey” opts for white laces.
This collaboration continues a busy stretch for Levi’s and New Balance: they joined forces for a 992 in early August, and also teamed up for new takes on the 327 and 1300 back in 2020.
Expect the Levi’s x New Balance 990v3 in “Indigo” and “Grey” to release via the New Balance webstore and the Levi’s app come September 9. The MSRP for each pair is set at $220 USD.
Elsewhere in the world of New Balance, the Canadian masters of minimalism at JJJJound have worked with the brand to craft a dark navy take on the 990v4.
