The seasons are on the brink of transitioning from Summer to Fall, and to ring in the time of the year where the breeze settles in and the leaves start to transition colors, various sportswear brands have readied a new assortment of footwear drops. Over the next seven days, we’re going to see a stacked pile of hot ticket launches from the likes of Jordan Brand, Nike, adidas and more, but before we dive into these, let’s first run through all of the sneaker-related highlights that popped up last week.

For HYPEBEAST’s Sole Mates series’ one year anniversary, we received the opportunity to sit down with James Whitner and discuss the science behind collaborations as well as the Social Status x Nike SB Dunk Mid collection. Our What the Tech? editorial initiative also continued with an interview with Nike on its latest microorganism-harvested AirCarbon technology.

On the news front, the Beaverton-based imprints of Jordan Brand and Nike had plenty of new styles to uncover. The former finally unveiled its Air Jordan 1 KO and Air Jordan 15 collabs with Billie Eilish— both of which are headlining this week’s best releases — gave on-foot looks of the Air Jordan 1 Mid “SiEMPRE Familia” as well as revealed Zion Williamson’s Jordan Zion 1 and Air NFH “Bayou Boys collabs. Nike got active in its previews as well as Drake’s new NOCTA golf range was revealed along with Saquon Barkley’s Air Trainer 3, the Dunk Low “Midas Gold” and Patta’s Air Max 1 “Monarch” colorway.

For all you fans of the Three Stripes, adidas made sure to make a statement as well by showing off its Hachikō-inspired Superstars with atmos, official photos of the adidas NMD S1 and the CGI “Transhuman” RUBY 9100M’s adidas Consortium’s Ozrah. Reebok inserted themselves into the highlight reel last week with the announcements of its sugary collabs with Jelly Belly, an ombré-covered Club C Legacy with Très Rasché and first images of A$AP Nast’s impending Zig Kinetica II Edge. And rounding out the news items was New Balance which teased another Salehe Bembury x New Balance Yurt 574 colorway, a 574 team-up with Alpha Industries and the upcoming New Balance 57/40 “Refined Future.”

Did we get you all caught up? Great. You can find this week’s top 10 releases here below, and when you’re finished peeping those, head over to HBX to check out more footwear styles.

Nike Dunk Low “Grey Fog”

Release Date: September 21
Release Price: $100 USD
Where to Buy: SNKRS
Why You Should Cop: It’s no secret that Nike is putting most of its efforts into its classic Dunk model, and now its catalog is slated to expand with a fresh “Grey Fog” colorway. There’s no doubt that these will pretty much complement any clothes that you’ve got in your outfit due to the fact that they’re reliant on neutral tones exclusively. Crisp white paint spills onto the toe boxes, quarters and collars while its titular shade topples onto the laces, Swooshes and overlays.

Air Jordan 1 “Prototype”

Release Date: September 24
Release Price: $170 USD
Where to Buy: SNKRS
Why You Should Cop: Jordan Brand tends to pull from many different muses, and this forthcoming Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG “Prototype” draws from exactly what its moniker states. There are certain elements here that embraces the “unfinished” theme such as the perforated lines that sit beneath the collars — which are suggestive to wearers if they would like to chop the shoes and morph them into a low-top — the exposed stitchings around the Swooshes, mix of blue shadings, the extra toe box borders and the Swooshes that are affixed to the lower throat.

James Bond 007 x adidas UltraBOOST Pack

Release Date: September 21
Release Price: $170 USD
Where to Buy: adidas
Why You Should Cop: The new James Bond film No Time to Die is expected to release to the public next month, and to celebrate, adidas has teamed up with the iconic movie franchise to collaborate on various UltraBOOST DNA and UltraBOOST 20s. The iterations nod to the “White Tuxedo” and “Black Tuxedo” sensibilities in an effort to translate 007’s epochal sense of chic and spy-friendly swagger.

and wander x Salomon Odyssey and Outpath

Release Date: September 24
Release Price: TBC
Where to Buy: And Wander
Why You Should Cop: and wander and Salomon are reuniting for the fifth occasion to launch a three-pronged sneaker collaboration. The collection entails the Odyssey, the Outpath and the XT-6 models, all of which are designed with elements that are reflective of the natural world. The Odyssey and the Outpath will be the first to hit the market, the former of which is crafted in an olive green colorway with reflective details while the latter adheres to earthy brown and green color-blocking.

Gundam x Nike SB Dunk High “Banshee” and “Project Unicorn White”

Release Date: September 24 (skates shops in Asia and Europe), September 27 (Nike SNKRS Asia and Europe)
Release Price: $110 USD
Where to Buy: SNKRS
Why You Should Cop: Nike SB is known to call on a bevy of collaborators every year, and to cap off the month of September, it has tapped Bandei’s ever-iconic Gundam franchise for a two-piece footwear assemblage. There are two Dunk High installments involved here, one of which translates the robotic uniforms of the RX-0 Unicorn Gundam 02 Banshee, while the other mimics the aesthetic of the Banagher Links’ RX-0 Unicorn Gundam.

Air Jordan 5 “Oreo”

Release Date: September 25
Release Price: $190 USD
Where to Buy: SNKRS and Foot Locker
Why You Should Cop: This Fall, Jordan Brand is digging back into its 2013 archives to give the Air Jordan 5 “Oreo” new life. Everything from its stealthy nubuck uppers to its speckled spikes to its translucent mid-foot netting is returning, making for an exact 1 to 1 recreation of its OG makeup. Crisp white midsoles and icy outsoles round out its retro look.

adidas YEEZY BOOST 700 V2 “Mauve”

Release Date: September 25
Release Price: $220 USD
Where to Buy: adidas and Yeezy Supply
Why You Should Cop: “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” is certainly a phrase that Kanye West and adidas can attest to as they have shown a penchant of dropping its current models in colorways that are far too similar to each other. That’s the case for this adidas YEEZY BOOST 700 V2 “Mauve” — an earthy iteration that features a similar palette to the silhouette’s “Geode” colorway from 2019. Muted browns pour over the knitted underlays and midsoles while reflective and black overlays sit adjacent.

Sean Wotherspoon x Disney x adidas Superturf “Jiminy Cricket”

Release Date: September 25
Release Price: TBC
Where to Buy: adidas
Why You Should Cop: Sean Wotherspoon’s collaborative portfolio is broadening with another team-up the Three Stripes family, and this time he’s bringing Disney’s Jiminy Cricket along for the ride. This three-way collaboration bears a multi-colored palette and features functional attachments. Concealed inside the tongues is an image of the fictional Pinocchio character, and the kicks come packaged with detachable pouches.

Sue Bird x Nike Kyrie 4 Low “Dynasty”

Release Date: September 25
Release Price: $110 USD
Where to Buy: SNKRS
Why You Should Cop: Aside from admiring each other’s finesse moves on the basketball floor, Sue Bird and Kyrie Irving have a strong friendship off the floor. And to celebrate their relationship, Irving has often supplied the WNBA superstar with special PEs of his, and now he’s continuing the “#KeepSueFresh sneaker lineage with a special Kyrie 4 Low “Dynasty” makeup. Various shades of blue are responsible for covering most of the base layer while accents of yellow and a dusty green follow suit. Additionally, the tongues split between a “#KeepSueFresh” spell out on the right shoe while Uncle Drew’s personal logo adorns the left side.

Billie Eilish x Air Jordan 1 KO and Air Jordan 15

Release Date: September 27 (Billie Eilish store) and September 30 (Nike SNKRS)
Release Price: TBC
Where to Buy: Billie Eilish and SNKRS
Why You Should Cop: Jordan Brand has worked with a plethora of iconic musicians in recent years from Drake to Travis Scott to J Balvin, and now they’ve tapped pop artist Billie Eilish for a duo of footwear collaborations. An all-volt variation of the Air Jordan 1 KO and a monochromatic sandy beige Air Jordan 15 makeup are slotted into this launch, both of which are 100% vegan and come engineered with over 20% of recycled materials. The highly anticipated kicks will be releasing first on Eilish’s web store while a Nike SNKRS drop will follow.
