No one could have predicted that the New Balance 574 would have the successful year that it’s having in 2021 as it’s been seen through various collaborations with the likes of Jaden Smith, eYe COMME des GARÇONS Junya Watanabe MAN, The Apartment and more. While its momentum is going strong, the lifestyle silhouette is looking to further build on this through a partnership with Alpha Industries.
Give that Alpha Industries is a clothing company that adheres to military-inspired design language, it supplies the low-slung model with an assortment of drab tones. Suede overlays — which arrive on the heels, mid-foot and forefoot — are drenched in a “Sedona Seige” hue, and host Virginia-based imprint’s logo on the lateral heels. Next to this comes collars and toe boxes that have been engineered with a durable CORDURA® material and filled in with a charcoal gray, as well as leather heel overlays and tongues that are dripped in a muted beige. The insoles come co-branded and are splashed with orange backgrounds — a vibrant hue that is usually placed on the interior lining of Alpha Industries‘ signature MA-1 bomber jackets. Additionally, the shoes come packaged with interchangeable “N” logos.
Parties who want to cop can do so via New Balance Japan on September 18 for ¥16,500 ($151 USD).
